If there's one thing we've learnt, it's that the best things in life rarely happen the way you expect them to. Long before either of us realised it, our paths had already crossed. We had both walked the same school corridors, but it wasn't until years later, while working at that very same school, that our story truly began. It started simply — a friendship built on easy conversation, shared laughter, and finding reasons to spend a little more time together than either of us cared to admit. What began as quick chats slowly became part of our everyday lives. Chai lattes turned into tradition, conversations through a car window somehow lasted for hours, and "just friends" became harder and harder to believe.

The funny thing is,
maybe everyone else knew before we did.

Connor had quietly told his mom that he was going to marry Tatum one day, long before there was any reason to believe it could happen. Around the same time, Tatum had prayed for God to take control of her future, trusting that His plans would always be greater than her own. Looking back now, it's impossible not to smile at how perfectly everything unfolded.

Our relationship never felt rushed. It grew naturally, with a strong foundation of friendship, trust, and choosing each other every single day. Somewhere along the way, we realised we weren't just building a relationship — we were building a home in one another.

On 11 April 2026, Connor asked Tatum to marry him at Brahman Hills, and without hesitation, she said yes. Now, almost exactly one year later, on 10 April 2027, we have the privilege of promising each other forever. More than anything, this day is a celebration of God's faithfulness, of answered prayers, unexpected timing, and a love that found us when we least expected it.
